Two powerhouse Waikato choruses are teaming up to present a ‘show spectacular’ that will lift the roof and lift your spirits. Now that we’ve all been able to break out of lockdown, Mighty River Harmony men’s chorus and the Waikato Rivertones women’s chorus are sharing the stage at the University of Waikato Academy of Performing Arts to take a cappella singing to the next level.
Each champion chorus will break out new post-lockdown repertoire including show stoppers such as Africa, and Seven Bridges Road. The choruses will be joined by guests including the spectacular Dragonflies - an incredibly talented mixed quartet from Wellington - along with leading Waikato groups Harpers Bizarre, Renew, Ringtones, and more.
The afternoon concert will also include the best of the Waikato's Young People in Harmony. For a break from all that harmony we are including the novel and versatile Sergio Trombone Quartet on the evening programme. A brand new finale number, with nearly 100 performers singing in 8-part harmony promises, to be unforgettable. Tickets will sell fast and admission is by allocated seating so please don’t leave your purchase to the last minute.
Book early at the University ph. 07-858-5100, or contact any member of Mighty River Harmony or the Waikato Rivertones for tickets. Can't get tickets? Don't panic. Phone Richard on 824-1880 for help.
