Currency and banking

The currency used is the $NZ dollar. Most businesses will accept major credit and debit cards. ATMs are freely located in Hamilton and at surrounding towns. Travellers cheques and other currencies can be exchanged at most banks.

Banks are open Monday-Friday 9am - 4.30pm
