About Huntly
Huntly is surrounded by rich farmland and lakes, ideal for yachting, water skiing, windsurfing and canoeing.
It is recognised as one of the main coal mining centres of New Zealand and produces over 10,000 tonnes of coal per day. The Huntly Waikato Coalfields Museum displays the history of local coal mining.
