River Image (left)

We use this camera to send a broadcast quality, streaming image to the TVNZ studios in Auckland from Hamilton City Council, for live broadcast on TV1.

The camera sits on top of the Environment Waikato building on the eastern side of the Waikato River and looks north up the Waikato River at the the city with the Victoria Bridge in the foreground.  At 4pm each day, this camera does a sequence of shots around the city and then turns to the south, to look down the river towards Waikato Hospital. This is necessary to avoid the afternoon sun damaging the lens of the camera. The camera returns to the north view at 6pm.

This camera sits on top of the Hamilton City Council Building, and looks down onto Garden Place at the centre of the city.
